Lunar is a great character and story driven RPG that will keep you chuckling the whole way through.
Lunar is a standard turn based jrpg when it comes to game play. Your characters have a quest and in order to achieve it they must tackle dungeons and defeat the bosses at the end. What makes Lunar better then most of the other rpg's is its Characters and the story. Lunar's characters are just plain fun to play; they have such depth and personality. They feel more like characters from your favourite TV show or movie and even thou the story is not a complex one it always feels like your doing something important and fun. Combat is turned based and is quite basic; you either use your weapon, special move or cast a spell. There's not really any customizing in this game and after awhile it can get to be to repetitive.
GRAPHICS:
The graphics are just awesome, I really like what Xseed did with the game. I have played a few PSP rpg's and the graphics are always great.
SOUND:
I don't think I have ever played a game where I liked every little tune and voice, until now. I bought the limited edition so I also have the sound track CD and I am glad I did. The music is just beautiful and fits perfectly to the events in the game at the time. I also enjoyed the voice acting, although it was not great it didn't annoy me like some games VA does.
VALUE:
For $45 I got the Limited Edition which contains the game, sound track and 13 manual sized pictures of some of the characters. What the game doesn't contain is any new content on a second play through and no side quests which has become almost standard in rpg's now.
Overall I really enjoyed this game; the characters are with out a doubt the heart of the experience. I was disappointed with the lack of depth with combat and customization, but simple is not always bad. One thing that did annoy me was the frequent loading times every time the characters moved from area to area. Still it was a great game and I recommend it to anyone who's interested.
