Mabinogi. I have no idea what that means, nor do I care. All I know is that the game is epic. Mabinogi is an MMO game from Korea. It is based upon Celtic mythology and the main story line is incredibly good. In Mabinogi, after creating your account, downloading, etc. you will be able to create your character. There are hundreds of ways to customize your character - you can change your characters looks later but you would need to pay for a premium character card in order to do so - remember: Take your time with creating your first character. Make him/her with the thought that this will represent you to the world of Erinn. After creating your character you will enter the world of Erinn and be given your first quest. Quests come to you via owls throughout the game. You can also get party quest scrolls from various NPC's and other types of quests. Every Saturday your character ages a year. Once your character hits the age of 20, you are allowed to rebirth for free. Rebirthing sets you back to an age of your choice (between 10-17) and puts you back at level 1. You will keep all your items and skills. As for the skill system, I will now explain it. You learn various skills naturally, and via NPC's and quests. After learning a skill you have to actually practice it. Every time you get older or level up you will receive AP, or Ability Points. Skills require AP in order to rank up. Skills are ranked as follows: Novice (not learned yet), F-A, and then from 9-1. After achieving rank 1 in a skill, you can practice it until you fill it's training bar one last time. Doing so will give you a title "The Master of ". Titles enhance your stats in the land of Erinn so be sure to get one. Titles can be obtained in many ways, some you can get on purpose, some are just luck. After completing the first two tiers of the story (G1-G2) you will be able to transform. For humans, transformation is from their regular selves into Paladins. As a Paladin you will receive bonuses to all your stats, hp, mp, etc. You can transform once per Erinn day. If you go on to complete G4 you can choose to no longer be a paladin (Not possible if you have advanced the Paladin Transformation skill too far) and instead be a Dark Knight. Dark Knights have the ability to control monsters which has a high appeal to many players. There are two other playable races in Mabinogi. Elves ~ Who run faster than humans, have the ability to go invisible, and shoot two arrows per ranged attack as opposed to the one humans do. Elves transform into Falcon Elves instead of Paladins or Dark Knight. Giants are the other race and they are as expected. They are slower, use throwing weapons instead of bows, can knock down certain trees to use as weapons, have the "Stomp" skill, and can carry humans who are on the side of giants. (There is a PvP war between Elves Vs Giant, Paladins Vs Dark Knights) There is also a large variety of pets a player can choose to buy from the Cash Shop. From Horses, to dogs, to mountable Eagles, there is no shortage of wonderful animal companions. An interesting feature of Mabinogi is the ability to play AS YOUR PET. That's right, you can join in a party as your pet dog, cat, bird, anything. There is tons of ways to customize your characters appearance. There is a large variety of clothing and armor which have changeable colours via dyes (bought in the Cash Shop or from other players) There is simply too much in this game for me to put into this review, and I am not sorry a bit for that. Do yourself a huge favour and try out Nexon/DevCat's: Mabinogi.
Mabinogi just as its subtitle suggests is a fantasy life online. If your not the type for real life simulation this game probably isn't for you, but for those of you that are tired and bored of gaming being highly separa... Read Full Review
Overall, Mabinogi is a very good game. It has a wide array of skills, many quests, and, unless you use a guide, it feels very realistic because you have to find out everything yourself. Its features include pets which... Read Full Review
