A brilliant adventure game I will never forget.

User Rating: 9.5 | Machinarium PC
Machinarium is an adventure game by the folks who made Samorost and Samorost 2. I loved those games and figured this one would be great too, but I honestly didn't expect it to be as amazing as it was.

The world of Machinarium will completely take you in; every scene is a beautiful work of art with music and ambient sound that creates a truly unique environment. As the name suggests, the world your character lives in is completely mechanical. The citizens are robots, the birds are robots, the cats are robots. The setting seems to be like that of a run down city or a slums of some sort.

The quality of the art and music alone gives this game a 10/10, but it's the story and the way you progress through it that really won me over. Like the other games by Amanita Design, much of the game is humorous. There are many interesting puzzles and challenges you come across along the way, some of which I had seen in other adventure games, but most of which were new to me.

One thing I love about this game is the fact that all your genius ideas seem to work out perfectly. In other adventure games, I would think of some awesome idea to solve a problem, only to find that it doesn't work. But in Machinarium, things worked out in such a way that I was very challenged throughout the game but never once really got stuck.

I'm not going to spoil the story, in fact I'm leaving out much of what I want to say just for the sake of letting you find it out for yourself. You need to play Machinarium. :)
