Who does not want to broadcast Baywatch, Dallas, Alf and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on the same day?

There are not many good "run your own TV station" games, but MadTV is one of those games that are still playable nowadays. The goal of the game is to make money by running your TV station properly and then buy a present for the blond Betty. Betty sits at a desk at the top of the office, with a picture of the dude that gives her the most expensive present at that moment. Buying the right presents will "push" her love for you at a maximum and finally you will marry her… but I never get to that part.

The game is way to addictive and fun then finishing it. The only thing I do is make money and buying the most expensive series, movies and live football matches and creating my own shows and series with a massive budget.

You only have to fill in the hours from 18.00h until 01.00h and you begin at 17.00h to check your programming of the day and keep your news up to date. That sounds easy, but it is of great importance programming the right kind of series or movie at the right time of the day. Sometimes you can see at the details of the movie that it is X-rated for example and you cannot program it before 21.00h. If you do, you will get a penalty. Another very important thing, maybe the most important, is advertising. The millions of people watching, the kind of series or movie that you are running, are the two things you will have take in mind for programming your advertisements correctly. Doing it wrong will cost another hour of "no income".

You have to compete against two other TV stations and when one of the other TV stations has a higher audience rating by the hour, you will lose one percentage each hour. And finally, you will get kicked out of the office. You can lose quickly if you broadcast The National Geographic series all day, but buying WarGames and My Beautiful Laundrette the moment you enter the building, you have a good chance surviving the first day.

By the way, I have to give big credits to Rainbow Arts for using real series and movies, which make the game really fun. Who does not want to broadcast Baywatch, Dallas, Alf and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom on the same day?
