Madden NFL 06 a must have for any gamer!
User Rating: 9.6 | Madden NFL 06 PS2
The Gamespot reviewer for this issue of Madden was clearly asleep at the wheel in commenting on the QB vision system. It's a fantastic addition to the game, and gives probably one of the deepest, most nuanced games in any genre, on any platform, that much more precision and offers yet another area for the player to go deep with their skills. Beyond that, even a cursory review of, say, the Prima Strategy Guide (a must, I think, for anyone who wants to check out the vast range of what you can do with this game and who is not already familiar with the details, old or new), will clearly demonstrate that the GS reviewer didn't even touch on a wide number of top-quality improvements across the board, in detail and in overall play dynamic. One last word to the GS reviewer: don't blame the ball if you can't play the game, 'nuff said. If you've never played a sports game, or don't like the genre, or think you need to know football to enjoy Madden NFL 06, you owe it yourself to pick this up and find out just how much fun it really is. I'm not a deep football fan but it's hooked me utterly, and the info in the Strategy Guide on all the teams really gives me almost a WoW-like fascination with being able to pit different teams with different strategies against each other (more of this kind of info should be available within future versions of Madden, IMHO). Oh one word of caution if you get the Prima Guide; there apparently was no editor involved, and the info is solid but the writing is sub-7th-grade in quality, highly irritating even if you're only mildly literate.
