I had never played a football video game before this one and so when I played this I was blown away. The gameplay is pretty easy to learn. On offense you control the QB and pass to players using the X,Y,B,R, and L buttons. You then have to obviously avoid a sack and at the same time, move your GB's vision with the c-stick. Its not all that hard to learn. On Defense, you use one of the defenders and try to stop the offense by doing things like sacking the QB or intercepting a pass. You can try to intercept the ball with the Y-button or block it with L. The game offers a Play Now feature which allows you to do just that. There are several game modes like Franchise, Practice, and Superstar mode. Superstar is the coolest as you get to create your own player from scratch and have him play in the pros. It is somewhat flawed in places but is still really fun. You can do different features like creating and playbook or fan from the features menu of the main menu. You can also customize and check up on your profile in My Madden. This game is addicting and will have you playing for hours at a time. I have heard that there are better football games out there but for anybody who hasn't played one before, this is a truly amazing experience.
