Madden returns for the second time on the PSP and it's better than before.

User Rating: 10 | Madden NFL 07 PSP
I bought Madden 07 for my PSP and PS2, and suprisingly, I like the PSP version better. The game is pretty much the exact same, with the exception of a few bonus features on the PSP that aren't on the PS2 version, and vice versa. Unlike PSP's Madden 06, this game now has an Instant Replay feature which I personally missed in the last game. Also, there is a couple new game features including End to End, in which you play a game against every team in the NFL. I haven't got the chance to play any of the new game features, but they seem like a good thing. Also, you can now unlock the AFC and NFC Hall of Fame teams by completing the End to End feature. Madden still has the Wi-Fi feature of Infrastructure and Ad-Hoc, so if you get tired of playing the computer, you can take it to the next level and play people from across the country.

Also, the new look and feel of the PSP version is a lot better than before. The menu screens took on a new more current look, and the gameplay graphics are probably the best of any PSP game. I was suprised to see the graphic quality of the game, and even think it's as good, if not better than those in the PS2 version. In the older PSP version of Madden 06, the grass always looked the same. Like green plastic. Now, the turf looks like...well, turf. Or grass, or whatever is on the field. Also, you can now SEE the snow and rain falling instead of just hearing it. The graphics are even good enough to see the tiny holes in you're players jerseys. EA Sports really went all out with the graphics. I'd say, the only problem is that the players still all look the same, but you rarely see them anyways.

EA Sports also made big improvements on the sound of the game. Not only does it come with a great soundtrack, but also, the game sounds improved amazingly. Now, instead of hearing what sounded like an ocean, the crowd actually sounds like a real crowd and "boos" or "cheers" when they should. Also, it's not a big thing, but now you can hear music playing in the stadium in the background while also hearing the commentary. Also, the sound of tackles and the collisions sound much more real than before. The gameplay has gotten much better from the last version. Now, instead of controling the QB, you can now switch to any other offensive player on the field. Like if you wanted to clear the way for you're RB, you can control one of your linemen and take down the defense. Also, there are many more juke and special moves you can use. It may take time to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, it is very helpful. EA Sports also added the "Hit Stick" to this game, making it easier to force a fumble or injury. The kicking control also changed. Instead of using the X button, you now use the joystick by moving it up and down. It's actually very simple and makes it easier to kick fieldgoals. Basically, Madden 07 is just plain fun. It will definitely keep you occupied until Madden 08 is released. This game is one of the most addicting games ever made. Just plain and simple, this game kicks @$$!!

( I got Madden 07 at Circuit City for $27 on PSP and $37 on PS2, so it is well worth the price. I highly advise you to go to Circuit City and get Madden 07 for any system while the $12 savings still last, but, it is still worth the regular price. )
