Good game, but an upgrade of the last two years.

So when i picked up Madden 08, I didn't open it until i heard what my friends had to say. Although they didn't say much, I just opened the game and popped it in the system. (I don't know if some people noticed this, but Vince Young has a tattoo in the cover of the case, but when you see him when the game loads, he doesn't have it anymore...) Anyways, I was totally expecting Madden 07, but with an updated roster. Superstar mode is iffy since it's all zoomed in and you can't pick your plays. I did not play superstar mode even though my RB in NCAA 08 was completed. It didn't seem fun like it was in 06. Other than that, the new features aren't that great. Skills challenge? Probably pretty useless, they should have put that in the training camp for Superstar or Franchise. The new Fantasy feature thing is pretty fun. I haven't gotten real deep into it, but it's pretty fun so far. All i have gotten deep into was Franchise. It's just about the same as last year, but with a few new features. Hit Stick 2.0 is just for looks. The only reason why i gave this game an 8.0 is because the gameplay is really stinkin smooth. i've never played a madden that was this smooth. 07 was really stiff and it felt weird, but 08 is really good. the AI seems pretty lame when i started franchise and did a fantasy draft. my first 3 picks were Champ Baily, WAlter Jones, and Steve Hutchison....seems like every year the AI always drafts offensive RB and QB first. Here's a tip for you people who like to do fantasy drafts: You got about 10-15 above average RB and about 18 good QBs. Draft someone who has talent way behind the next player in his position. For example, Walter Jones. The best LT. the nex t best has nothing on Walter JOnes. build a strong o-line and get a decent RB and that RB will be a gangster and have over 1000 yards easy.
The game is just plain fun. Yes, there are a lot of complaints, but it's just freakin fun. Some people don't do anything but play video games all day and all night. but if you play every other day or a couple hours a day, i recommend this game cause it's just fun. also, the new skill things is pretty hard to learn, but once you get it, it'll be a lot easier playing pros online.
