On the surface, this game runs better than its predecessors. The game does run smoothly and the side games are entertaining. However, there were a few glitches that completely takes away from any fun you could have with this game. Gameplay against the computer can get frustrating when the computer pulls off plays that are seemingly impossible on a routine basis (imagine the opponent in triple coverage with no opening still catching the ball even when it goes into your defender type of impossible play). Add to that the problem of having to complete certain Madden challenges more than once to get credit for them (ex. hold Oakland under 21 points - I blanked them twice and still didn't get the points). The gameplay itself was not as smooth as earlier versions and the character response to your play was terrible. The side games got old and stale very fast with little upside to continue playing them. There were other issues, but I won't waste any more time on this game. Hopefully, Madden 2010 will remember to improve the DS version as well.
