So here's the deal, I have both the PS2 and PS3 retail copies of this game and they're both great games. I personally love the PS2 gameplay I've been using since my first Madden game on PSone which was 2001. I thought towards the future that one day it would be more realistic. Not too long after that did I find out how much better the game got. Madden 03 was the bomb and Madden 04 was just the same just with updated rosters and Mike Vick on the cover. Madden 2005 was the most funnest year because the online play was working better for me then the predecessors did, trust me. 06, 07, and 08 had their flaws but when I decided to get 08 on Wii I had a lot of fun but I knew I wouldn't get it for Wii the second time. Madden 09 is just flat out, awesome! I was surprised to see how good the tackling animations for 09 were more realistic on PS2 despite the fact the three predecessors were just the same. I don't get the family play thing in these EA Sports games nowadays though. I saw the same with the NCAA Football video games that I saw in Madden. I personally prefer college football video games over Madden NFL because I can get through seasons quicker and I'm not always playing the same teams year in and year out. Despite the only 32 NFL teams I really, really, really like Madden. Played this version at a friends place who sill doesnt have PS3 or XBox. The folks at EA need to improve pass defense AI, even on All Madden I still hit 50% of 50yrd+ simple streak routes. Some better offensive line AI... Read Full Review
