Madden is the closest way the average Joe will get to play pro football..It's just too bad EA can't get a bit closer..

Madden has always been the most anticipated game in console history. What will they add? What will they change? Which console is it best on? It's a series that can't truly ever please fans until it really is tweaked to near perfection, which it just isn't yet. I know this because every year during my first crack at the game I'm already wondering what they'll change next year! But longtime players of the game should be picky because we're the ones that must inspire EA to eventually get it right. I'm sorry to say that while Madden has gotten much better this generation, there is just not enough positive changes from this year and last year. Instead of concentrating on loose-ball mini games they should have spent more time tweaking the passing game, coverage and tackling. The supposed new gang tackles are hardly noticeable, the hit stick seems to not even work anymore, and it's still way too difficult to throw over the top of defenders when your wide-out has him/them easily beaten.

The complaints aside, I think they have made the running game much better. Your RB actually fights for those extra yards (even if his back is turned) and spin moves/jukes actually work a bit better when you time it right. I'm really glad they got rid of the "disco ball" scoreboard that was right in the middle of the screen in 09' and they have finally disguised your playbook again so you are never highlighting plays.

The graphics are still a bit cartoonish in my book but the animation and game speed is very sharp and the frame-rate has no issues whatsoever..I wish they could have sharpened up the crowd and overall presentation a bit more but I'd rather they focus on the game play which I think is what they did.

Overall Madden 10 is still a fun and realistic football experience(especially with two+ players) and I will always play the hell out of it. That said, after playing this years, I'm already wondering how they will better it next year thus making the Madden series the most anticipated game out there..

After thought: Once again the soundtrack is great! So...why the heck can't you listen to it during practice drills!!!?????????
