Good game with some fun modes, but lacks the polish and innovation to be a groundbreaking Madden title.

User Rating: 8 | Madden NFL 11 PS3
Madden 11 revolves around the same formula they've been using for years now. The AI is improved and the graphics are pretty awesome. Player interaction on the field seems so real, people thought I was watching a live NFL game rather than playing one on PS3.

All of the modes you've come to expect are they're including Franchise and Superstar modes. Win the Superbowl in any of these modes and you're treated to a neat little parade sequence. However, Superstar Mode left me wanting a little more. All you do is play. You don't hire agents or trainers as in previous years. You don't even really give interviews, you are assigned a nameless agent whom you converse with using a very, very short list of commands and responses. The most fulfilling mode is the Ultimate Team mode. In this mode, you collect cards of NFL players and use them to build your team. You play games and buy packs of cards. These include player, coach, stadium, uniform, injury, and contract extension cards. This mode was quite addicting. A word of caution though, make sure your online connection is full proof because when you lose connection the games still come off of your player's contracts but you do not receive any coins. And you cannot start a new team. To me, these are the only two flaws with MUT mode.

Bottom line, this is a good game and doesn't deserve all of the low scores it has been given. That being said, it isn't groundbreaking so if you're worried about the $50-$60 price tag, I'd wait.
