Madden changed things up, but gained little except potential for next year.

Madden feels different this year but the core of the game is the same and the additions are minimal. The changes in the tackling and zone coverage make the game more fun and realistic but are the only changes worth mentioning positively. The 3-D grass is a nice addition but doesn't live up to the level that was set by NCAA and Tiger Woods. The Franchise additions aren't even close to impressive. Scouting is a good idea but falls short in the fact that you rarely get relevant ratings giving you the idea that a 7th round pick will be a 95 overall and a first rounder will only be a 58 because of the ratings provided. There was nothing added to Franchise relocation so it remains basically pointless. Free Agency bidding is to hectic and fast as well as not realistic. You'll find yourself overpaying for players because you only have 30 seconds to look at whether or not the player is worth the money. You'll also be forced to sign a 3 year contract to a veteran you may only want for one year. The dynamic player performance works nicely but isn't that noticeable for most of the traits. Player traits can sometimes go overboard (once I had a FS that was a big hitter that had a ball thrown straight to him and was in the air for 4 seconds but instead of going for the pick decided to wait and let the receiver catch the ball and then hit him but not knock the ball out). Superstar is still not complete, there is not draft you just magically appear on a team after clicking a button with no logic on team needs at all. There is no progression you start as a starter even if that means going ahead of Aarron Rodgers. If you import from NCAA 12 there is no rating logic one time a imported a player twice the first time he was a 88 the second time a 75. In Superstar you play practice and up ratings, AND NOTHING ELSE, unlike MLB The Show and NBA 2K. Ultimate Team is fun when the servers are up (which is rare). So if you have any recent Madden (10 or 11) This game isn't worth 60 dollars, if you don't this game is a good get but getting 11 would be a better value if don't mind about Rosters to much.
