madden 2005 is the game for THE real football sim fans. The game has everything you can ask for in a football sim that is second none. Don't let the review in this website veer you away from getting and playing this game. If you like real football...this is the closest it gets. Let me start off with the defensive controls. Although it does have a learning curve of about 3-4 hours of continued play in practice mode - defense is what its all about in this game. Gone are the Jet packing wide recievers and hello Mr Ray Lewis! You could now play any team in this league and win. No more glitches no more money plays. This year around--=you better play good defense or its over. Now you can have total control of everything that goes on the field and not some CPU generated play doing everything for you. If you love defense like I do ---- get this game NOW. Not enough options???? Get the Collector's edition. Play Running attack, 2 min drill, franchise mode, watch documentary of the making of madden over the years, and most of all play online or with friends and bring the smackdown on em!! The Hit stick is a great addition to the mechanics of the defense this year. The offense has toned down now...which is why alot of Madden Haters just can't get this game. If youre looking for that kind of game...there's another game that costs a few pennies and you could live your football fantasies on that game. Madden is for the big boys... Get the game...I did. You wont regret it. Its probably the best videogame investment you could ever make this year as far as sports sims go.
