A game with a story that rivals the best mob movies, with amazing game play to boot.
So as I said in the last paragraph, Mafia 2's storyline is incredible, rivaling that of The Godfather, A Bronx Tale, or even Goodfella's (yes even Goodfella's); throughout the entire game, the storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters as well are just so terrifically written and acted that you will begin to care about what happens to them.
Mafia 2 continues to excel in its game play, where guns, brawling, and stealth are all used, and all of them are incredibly fun. The firefights don't get stale thanks to the multitude of guns available to you as well as the great settings they take place in; almost every firefight that you participate in is incredibly fun and fast-paced. Brawling and stealth aren't featured as often as the firefights are, but certainly not something just tacked onto the game at the last minute, quite the opposite.
Driving. It's fun. A lot of fun. All of the cars featured in the game handle realistically, adding to both how fun and immersing the game already is (speaking of immersing, the three radio stations available all feature period music, minor detail, but still cool). All of the cars can also be customized by changing the color and the rims (you can also upgrade the engine).
So now for my complaints with the game. The first being that game is way too short; you'll be finished in two days. The game is also too easy, when you play the game, play it in hard mode as normal is incredibly easy. Speaking being easy, the cops are also very easy to lose (just drive really fast or go around a few turns/change your license plate, car color, or clothes).
Mafia 2 is a game that must be played. If you've ever enjoyed a mob movie, a shooter, or am open world game, then you owe it to yourself to play this game.
P.S. If you can, then buy the game for the PS3 as you get free DLC (The Betrayal of Jimmy).
