Mafia II could easily be better.And after all these years of waiting for it it`s just not fair that it isn`t.
The game starts in Sicily in the 40`s.You are Vito Scalleta,An Italian American who is fighting for the US army.After invading a small town,Vito gets shot and is sent home to Empire Bay for a couple of weeks.Where he meets with an old friend Joe who now works for Italian Mafia.Joe helps Vito to fake his paperworks and get off duty.Now Vito starts working alongside Joe to Gain respect and money,Working for the Mafia.
Gameplay:
The game suffers from a boring and linear game-play.Exactly what Mafia 1 avoided.You get to go around with your friends or alone and kill your enemies.Although some of the missions are extremely fun,most of them are total disappointments.You don`t get to buy homes for yourself,rent a cab,have fun with girls or anything you can do these days in any Mafia-like games.Car handling is also not balanced,and Cars hardly have any Brakes considering their speed.Game-play could have been better,much better.
Graphics and Sounds:
Mafia II has good and smooth Graphics,although some of the textures in the game suffer from Bad desinging.But Empire Bay is fully and beautifully designed and Characters have complete and accurate designing.
Mafia II has a beautiful theme song,alongside with good in game music.Cars could use more radio stations though.Characters are acceptably sounded and have full accents of the 50`s.
Mafia II could be a much much better game,considering the time it was in development.But although Mafia fans will be disappointed when playing it,Shooter fans will probably enjoy it.
