This is more like action shooter than the free roam GTAs. Actually, the linear storyline of the game makes it a little more focus on what you do and compared to the GTA, you don't get the feeling left alone in the bunch of houses and streets. But there's a few things so disapointed in such game w/ the available advantages.. The game do pretty good on people, that's what I say. The faces and the mouths move naturally, the body do the right acts and main characters are different from the others. But what I said is not bout the imvironment. Blurring the houses is not a bad idea, actually, is a worst!!! Don't you even think of stopping by and having a look at those half board card half house buildings. And there's something not right bout the actions too. Sometimes characters seem to emerge thru each other. The shaking hand feels like they're touching the air. Like others games, they do nothing bout the fingers, just simply don't move at all. And the gun shot. No sign of bullet hitting substance things, so boring when you fire your gun at a car, if animated, the car will go its progress to collapse. But when you hit something else, nothing happens. Walking in the third Per w/ the locked on cam is cool. It makes you feel better than in GTAs. The aiming here seems right, but actually, the R2,L2 is helpless when your enemy is behind covers. You can strafe to boost your shooting like other games, but Tommy strafes really slow make you a sitting duck for every one. And selecting the wp is not easy when you're moving. Driving sucks. Bad control. The x button seems not so sensitive, you must push it hard to get your baby moving!!! Ohhh, this account for the hardtime racing later on.. Shooting in cars sucks also. Nothing to talk on sound. I don't care much bout this but Its just not over the 7.0 yet, at least for the bad lip sync. You sure think the free drive and racing mode make its replay val high, I don't think so. The whole game brings you more than that. So that's it. Any way, this game is good enough for some spot, then have it.
Mafia is like playing a Grand Theft Auto that takes place in the 1930's. But unlike many of the other GTA wanna-bes, Mafia is surprisingly GOOD. Granted the graphics are not as good as the PC version, but it is still p... Read Full Review
