Quite nearly what Magic should be for the console.
But there are 3 things I didn't like, the lack of a trading function, the AI is way too hard (cheater), and the lack of full customization of your deck. How can you have Magic with no trading? There aren't a whole lot of cards right now, so I understand for the moment, but I am hoping that with an expansion they will add this functionality. The computer seems to get all the right cards at all the right times. And it almost requires that you build your deck up with reward cards before continuing on to the harder levels. Which leads me to the last gripe, the deck allows you to unlock and use up to 17 cards to the original 60 for any particular deck, but you cannot remove any of the original 60 from the deck, you are forced to play with 60+ cards if you want to use the additional reward cards.
Although there is still something to be said for sitting down face-to-face with an opponent, this is a good alternative. From what I understand there are going to be a few expansions down the road, which will keep me playing for months to come, I will be first in line when they release those. This game is fun, despite the 3 flaws I listed, well worth the 800 pts it cost. Like the first poster said this game is highly addicting because of it's difficulty, which can be good or bad depending on how easily you get frustrated. If you enjoy table top Magic, and aren't prone to throwing your controller, then you should definitely get this game, you will not be disappointed.
