Great pitching , baserunning and extras , good hitting , HORRID fielding.

So the final game of the 2k5 series for the year is here and its a good one. This game looks and plays great for the most part. As for all of the 2k5 games this year there are frachise , on-line, situation and quick play modes with some more thrown in the mix for good measure. Franchise mode is done well , i really liked the way scouting worked . ESPN.com is back for the baseball game also . For those that don't know what this is its basically like a pretend internet where you get stats , emails about key trades/injurys and standings. The Skybox is here for a little side fun away from trying to get your team to the World Series. Online play is also done well very lag free for the most part. The pitching in this game is great. How it works is you pick a location then a meter goes up and down then left to right. It really makes you put thought behind each and every pitch. The only problem I had here is that the CPU throws WAY too many passed balls. I have played the game for over 10 hours and not had one passed ball thrown by me but the CPU does it on average once every game and a half. Not a huge bug but one none the less. Another great feature in gameplay is baserunning. I loved how you can controll the base runner and tell the batter to swing away or bunt. Also how you have to hit a differant button for each baserunner to make them run faster. It works well . One of the man problems with I had with this game was the fielding. I used the Yankees (i know boooo) as my frachise team and the cover boy himself Derek Jeter has had like 5 errors in 15 games. The controlls while fielding feel a little slow but the fact that even great fielders miss easy plays stinks. Things like the 1st baseman not having his foot on the bag as the throw comes in and grounders getting misplayed happen way to often. The graphics are great on the ballparks and good on the players. Commentary is better then most during the game ... the rest of the game sounds good also. All the extras you would expect from 2k sports in the presentation department also.
