Alright! MLB 2K6 is out! Oh, wait, what happened!?
Ok, for you guys to agree with me let me start by saying you have to first play MLB 2K5 to agree on some points I'm about to state. Now, fielding in MLB 2K6 is just horrible. When a flyball, popup, or a homerun is hit the players feel like theres a 2 second delay for them to start moving. Even when moving they feel kind of glitchly and move like their 500lbs. On MLB 2K5, fielding was awesome! It was loose, smooth, and a lot of ease to run up and make a dving catch or to run up to the wall and catch a homerun. But this game just bites. It's almost impossible to make a diving catch and the running feels akward at times. Everytime when the opposing team hits it out in the feild and you grab it they can easily make a double or a triple. Sometimes they can even make a run home if their on 2nd baseball too! Fielding is the only reason this game deserves the rating I'm giving it.
As for batting and pitching; there's really no problems here! Swing Stick is so-so but I prefer the classic control instead. Pitching is sort of new but you'll get the hang of it. Only new thing here isa when pitching, every type of pitch your pitcher has now has a direction of where it'll go when thrown.
Online is fair but not good. Boy has 2K really let these games lag from the 2K5 series. It's even worse online when your trying to time your batting when the ball is being pitched to you. You be surprised at how many runs the other guy gets when you screw up in fielding by either not catching the ball or by just trying to make a diving catch and not getting the ball. Remember how I stated I was good at fielding and making great diving catches? Well, on online it's not possible at all! When trying to make a diving catch ther's a 3 second delay for the player to dive on the ground. When that happens the ball has already landed right in front of you just when your on the ground trying to catch it. Yes, it's that bad. Overall, online lags big time!
WHAT HAPPENED 2K SPORTS!? I hate NBA 2K6 and I thought you guys weren't gonna mess with MLB but it looks like you did just that! I feel ripped and dissapointed from this title. I'm glad I didn't trade in MLB 2K5. Thats the only baseball title I can say was the greatest baseball game from 2K Sports and the greatest baseball game I have ever played on the PS2.
