MLB 2K7 on the PS2 is nothing more than a roster update.

MLB 2K7 on the PS2 is not a bad. Its nowhere good tho. To start the gameplay is something to be desired. The pitching is not really that great. The way you have to hit the buttons isn't really a good way to control your pitches. If you havn't played the game before you will throw alot of wild pitches and that gets frusterating after a while. Fielding is great. It has been improved over last year and it is really good. You can control your fielder pretty well. Hitting is not fun at all. The swing stick is supposed to be the next gen way to hit the ball, but on this version of the game it isn't. The pitches come in to fast so you don't really know how to welly determine if the pitch will be a ball or a strike. So most of the time you will be swinging at air. All in all, the gameplay could have been a whole lot better.

There arn't that many new game modes. The GM mode isn't good. It is shallow. Just like the season mode and the franchise mode. There hasn't been any changes. The homerun durby is stupid. The pitches come one after another and they are like two seconds apart from each other. There hasn't been much added to the game modes section this year.

The over all look of the game isn't good. The cut scene graphics are excelent for the PS2. But the in game grapics look horible. The player modles dont look like their real life counter parts at all. The stadiums also look bad. The crowd is 2D except in the cut scenes. The managers don't look like themselves at all. Lou Piniella looks like a 30 year old guy with black hair. Terry Francona dosn't even have his bald head. This years graphics are not good by any means.

The sound is great. Jon Miller and Joe Morgan do an excelent job calling the play by play action. They tell stories and even answer viewer mail. They are always spot on with every thing they say. Before each game Gene Zalasko from FOX and some other fake guy break down both teams before the games are played. But even Jon Miller, Joe Morgan, and Gene zalasco can't save the entire came. In the end MLB 2K7 is just a baseball game. With a roster update. If you really have your heart set on MLB 2K7, get it on the nxt gen console. But if you only have a PS2 don't waste the time and money on MLB 2K7 and get MLB 07. This game just dosn't cut it as a good game.
