Nice to have a baseball game on the Wii, but I demand equal rights!
Graphics in the Wii version are pretty much Playstation 2 quality. Many players have signature walkups, windups and etc. but their movement quality and their faces are not up to par in this generation of consoles. I was also disappointed that the rosters were not up to date and many of the players' pictures were from up to 2-3 years ago which is not acceptable.
Once again, the commentary in MLB 2K8 is wonderful. Every year, they start from the previous game, and add more and more commentary and insight to the game. John Miller and Joe Morgan keep the game moving save for one glitch where you hit a single and round the bases only to go back to first base. They claim you are in a pickle and it was amazing that you got out of it.
If I had never seen the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of this game, I would have said this was a great game. But the abscence of the playing card mode and the minor leagues is simply unacceptable. There is absolutely no reason that 2K should leave these modes out of the Wii version. The Wii can certainly handle the two extra options. This is yet another example of a 3rd party company jipping off Nintendo systems. So if you only have a Wii, and you're a baseball fan, by all means get this game. But if you're a casual fan, and/or you have another system, get it for the 360 or ps3.
