Major League Baseball Featuring Ken Griffey Jr. ranks among The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros, and Super Mario 64, as one of the classics for the system. The batting system is very tough to master at first, but once you get the system it becomes very fun. The hitting system consists of a circle controlled by the player that must move to the pitch location, follow its movement, and then time the swing properly in order to hit the pitch. Let me tell right now, pick up Frank Thomas, Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Bonds, or Larry Walker. They are like gods walking among mere mortals. The pitching system is very fun. You select pitch and using the joystick place it and control its movement. It is very simple and is imitated in many current games. The fielding system is not flashy, but has no flaws. The movement is controlled with the joystick and the throwing with the c-buttons. The diving is easy to control and robbing home runs is very challenging. This game also features home run derby, which is amazing. You and your friends can play with up to four contestants. It is batting system, just with meat pitches. The season mode is great because it allows for a fantasy draft and trades. You control the batting order versus right and left handed pitchers as well as the bullpen. The game's intricate team manager is executed to perfection. Overall the game is one of the best in history of video games. It is definately the best baseball game out there.
