A unique design doesn't save this game..

Maple Story... such a mediocre game. When I decided to download this game I thought it would be at least pretty good.. but, when it got done oh how I was wrong. Here's a quick summary of the game--make your character, start walking, and kill snails. Yes snails. RED snails at that. I mean liek, omg, insane. You spawn in the first area. Talk to some random NPC that tells you to do something, I never paid attention though. Anyway after you get your "quest" you embark out to... FIGHT SNAILS! Woo, fun. After you kill about 20 of 'em you get level2, whoopie! And after you level up you go right back to killing... and kill about 3x as many to level up again. The gameplay sucks, all you do is press Ctrl and wait for the thing to die. So if you want a game with fun controls and stuff like that look elsewhere.

Now to the graphics.. I like the graphics they look pretty cool and everything. But it doesn't exactly save the game from anything which is too bad. To tell the truth I enjoyed the 2D stuff and stuff like that but after a while it just gets in the way of the gameplay and it doesn't help at all.

The sound... is ok, all you mainly hear though is snails crying for help in their death sound..things. You also hear the clanging of your sword on things which is actually kind of annoying. All in all the sound is acceptable but not good by any means.
Sound Score 4/10
All in all the game is quite poor but what do you expect from a free mmorpg... not much I guess. If you're bored give it a shot, it'll give you something to do for a little while. But I doubt you'll like it very much.
Overall Score 4.8/10
