Classic 2-D Zelda-like platformer with MMORPG setting, very well designed, but the online community is worse than Hell.
The game incorporates the excellent character control that can be achieved only in 2D. The main purpose of the game is to battle monsters and level up, although it gets progressively difficult to do so. The game features 4 main classes: Warrior, Magician, Rogue, and Bowman, each of which can be upgraded at higher levels to various subsets.
For example the Warrior can become the brute Fighter and later change into the ultimate raw damage dealer, the Crusader. The warrior can turn into the taciturn Page as well, whose true powers are seen once they become a Knight and unleash magical attacks. Finally the Warrior can become the aspiring Spearman, which once turned into a Dragon Knight, becomes the ultimate mob specialist.
The game includes secure trading systems, a individual popularity measure, party system, chat system and quests that are activated by level. The largest problem with this game is addiction perhaps. Most gamers cannot play anything else while they are playing this game, which could be for a while. Neverthelss, the game is highly entertaining and worth its free value.
Note it takes quite a long time to reach the 3rd job, (Level 70), usually several months for many players. Most players without that willpower will lose interest and usually switch classes, or exit the game altogether. Nevertheless, the game does in fact become more fun as you level up. However, even though it may seem this is the IDEAL MMORPG, it has serious downfalls that destroy everything I just mentioned. First of all, the game is made by Wizet, one of the world's most poorly managed companies. The game has a HUGE problem with hackers, and Wizet claims that they will ban these offenders, but it happens EXTREMELY rarely, causing hackers to continue on without worry.
Second, the people who play this game are usually high school students. Therefore, you will notice "cliques" forming and people being cast out, just like in real life high school. The "girls" in this game tend to be the biggest text spammers/morons at an incredible level. Almost everyone has an obsession with sexual jokes/innuendo that no one wants to hear (I guess its the puberty kicking in). People in this game are HIGHLY untrustworthy, since I met people who I trusted for months but they turned out to be notorious hackers/scammers etc. People will turn "hacker hunting" into a witch hunt, where more than likely you will be deemed a hacker for not joining the Maple "in-crowd". Third, the game is ridiculously boring at L70+, and if you get to L100+, you either have the willpower equivalent to God or you're just insane. At high levels, the fun factor in this game is absolutely zero. The game turns into nothing but leveling or chatting with "friends". Wizet releases new worlds/quests at a horribly slow rate. All in all, the community and gameplay seriously demolish any hopes for this game. If you want to succeed in school, (meaning pass or do well), stay as far as possible from this game. If you want to have friends in real life, stay as far as possible from this game. If you want to wake up and not check www.sleepywood.net every morning, stay as far as possible from this game. I don't know how else I can tell you what a bad influence this game has had on me and 100s of others. I had the courage to quit, and that is something most people lack in this game. Stay away for your sake.
This game is NOT entertaining in any manner, it is mindless addiction that I feel will harm anyone who comes contact with. God help those who are still trapped by it.
