Mario and Luigi are back, and this time they get personal with Bowser. Literally. Bowser inhales them and the rest of the palace crew, and M + L are trying to save the Mushroom Kingdom by powering up the King of Koopas. The game has 2 different types of modes. Inside Bowser is 2d, with little info-bearing blocks called "Emoglobins" with a unique way of speaking, "Being inside the large-ish Bowser is totally GLOBIN!!!!!!" It may not seem like there's a game inside the big lug called Bowser, but multiple areas, and reactions in the Koopa's body give it depth. And, in one of very few instances, you can PLAY as Bowser! Yes, the fire-breathing Koopa King himself. Instead of jumping on enemies like his arch-rival, Bowser prefers to punch and breathe fire at his foes. Traveling through the Mushroom Kingdom to save both his castle and Peach's castle, Bowser is a formidible force. The battles are the same as the prequil, Partners in Time, except that timing is key to the hammers. Hit the button at the last second to let loose a giant hammer swing to the enemy. Bowser depends even MORE on timing, as his 2 main attacks are like the hammers. Inhaling enemies is a new feature, but I don't want to give too much away. There could even be a 3rd type of battle... Overall, Bowser's Inside Story is a game that is pretty fun. A great time-killer too!
