Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is a Magnificent game thats a must have for DS owners!

User Rating: 9.5 | Mario & Luigi RPG 3!!! DS
Nintendo just knows how to hit the right spot with this series. Superstar Saga was a great opening to the series, while Partners in Time was near perfect, now Bowser's Inside Story follows that same path in being nearly perfect. There were only some minor things I didn't like about the game but I'm sure they won't bother other people especially people who are new to the series.

Now, The Gameplay is mostly still the same since the first and second game. A to control Mario and B to control Luigi, however now your controlling Bowser who is controlled with X and Y. There are many mini games for Mario & Luigi some that require the touch screen and others that don't. The Touch Screen controls really shine when your doing a major Boss battle with Bowser. There are 3 or 4 fights that require you to hold your DS as if it were a book and you have to slash, tap, slide, and blow your way to victory as Bowser. To me, controlling Bowser is a big improvement over the the babies of Partners in time, however the thing I really disliked about controlling Bowser was that some boss battles required you to do plenty of button mashing.

The game looks amazing. It is in 2-D at least 98% of the time. There are many bright colors. Mario & Luigi's sprites looks amazing and act hilariously. Bowser's also looks and acts great. my only gripe is that the inside of Bowser looks really dull at times which if you've played the first 2 games of the series everywhere you go there isn't a dull ugly place.

The Tunes in this game are a delight. You'll love them from start to finish. The thing you'll love even more is the fake Italian spoken by Mario & Luigi. I found myself unable to hold my laughter at times when listening to their gibberish. Sound effects are mostly recycled from last game but that isn't really significant.

The Game will last you about 25 hours plus there are some extra things to do once your finished. I personally found it fun to level up their stats which is done by just encountering random enemies. With the story, side missions, and leveling up you could find yourself surpassing 50 hours of gameplay.

The Story to me was great, it featured the return of Fawful! The thing about the story though is that many of the events are coincidental such as if Mario & Luigi need something it'll magically appear or happen. Same thing happens with Bowser. Through all that though the story is very well written. Nintendo did a good job in splitting the story between Mario, Luigi, and Bowser.

Overall I really enjoyed the game. From the tutorials to the final boss battle. The minor faults of the game are no reason to pass on it. I highly recommend this game to fans of the series, RPG lovers, and to all DS owners. The game will have something that you'll love about it, for me it was all the fun boss battles and funny gibberish by Mario & Luigi.

My score: 9.7 (9.5)
