Gameplay: Nintendo treats us gamers with another Mario-themed RPG after people saw how great and amazing previous Mario RPG's, like Super Mario RPG for the SNES and Paper Mario for the N64, were and how it would be a treat to make another. This Mario RPG is taken cared by Alpha Dreams. The game begins when an evil wizard-like creature from a world called Bean World comes into Princess Peach's castle and steals Peach's voice. Bowser later arrives and finds out he can't kidnap Peach because Peach beautiful voice was replaced by explosive vocabulary. Mario and Luigi find out about this and they both get the palace to find out about this. Bowser has agreed to work together with Mario and Luigi to help get Peach's voice back...so Bowser can then kidnap Peach. This is where the game begins. The game's RPG system and Battle system are virtually identical to the likes of Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario. Mario and Luigi lets you walk through different towns to purchase items, get clues and to figure out some puzzles. During your battles, Mario and Luigi will have only a few attacks to begin with. But as you progress through the game, you moves will advance and will get more moves. You can even dodge the attacks your enemies send to Mario and Luigi. The battle system is very unique in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. Often times, you will encounter with some humorous dialogue that are said by townsfolk and other important characters. In the fields, Mario and Luigi will gain skills to do certain puzzles in order to go further. There are a huge variety of options of gameplay found in this game that are addictive and interesting. However, some of these elements do get old after a while. It can be hard to get used to some of the game's controls. The gameplay in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga works well to play through all of the game, but it isn't appealing enough to make you come back to the game. Graphics: The graphics are pretty colorful and have good designs. The characters have a silly-looking look that is sure to appeal to Nintendo gamers. The game isn't too eye-candy, but the game pretty much looks good on the GBA. Sound: The music is good in this game. Some tracks fit in the scene well, and during the cutscene, music fits well into a story situation. A well-fitting musical score. Some important characters have some bits of voices that fit well with the game as well. Mario and Luigi feature some humorous gibberish language and some bits of dialogue as well. The sound effects will be familiar to Mario fans alike. Overall, the game sounds good. Conclusion: This game is fun and addictive when you play through it the first time. But when you get near the end of the RPG, the fun trims down a tad. Some of the gameplay elements can get repetitive. Though Battle system never gets old. So it comes down to this. If you are a fan of Mario RPG's, this game is worth trying out for only one time. Others who want to try a new RPG, you might only find this game as decent. Pros: -Creative and unique battles -Humorous dialogue -A few RPG elements work well here -Good music Cons: -The game can get a bit repetitive sometimes -The game is mostly fun when you play it once.
