User Rating: 9.7 | Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga GBA
The line of Mario RPGs continues, and it has (finally) landed home on the tiny screen of your GBA. In this new RPG by Nintendo and Alphadream, Mario and his brother Luigi team up to save the voice of Princess Peach, which was stolen by an evil Sorceress from the Bean Bean Kingdom, a brand new world in the Mario series. The game plays very similarly to Paper Mario, in the facts that you must collect badges and such to increase power, and that combat is button-oriented, where to perform different moves you must manually input some sequence of buttons, which requires good timing and lots of practice. Combat is fast, fun, and never gets dull and the level design is nearly un-matched (Which, in my opinion, was Paper Mario's strongest point). Mix in some top-notch graphics, with highly detailed indoor areas, nice character animations, and lush environments, and you have one of the most visually stunning games since Golden Sun. A great audio track of cool remixes of classed Mario tunes and some nice new ones is also one of the many outstanding qualities of this game, and even some cool voice tracks help add to the over all goofy tone of this Mario RPG. When it all comes together, you have yourself one of the most solid RPGs to hit the Game Boy. Hell, its one of the best RPGs to hit any consol. Buy this game, play it, beat it, then play it again. You WONT be disappointed, trust me. This is one RPG that has "classic" written all over it.
