way underatted by gamespot. this is a definate must have for vc. it was great on n64 and still is. 3rd best mario kart.

mario kart 64 takes characters from the mario/mushroom kingdom and puts them together in a crazy racing game that takes place all over mushroom and the other worlds that you might know from donkey kong and mario games and so forth. it is a 4 player game that is highly addicting and is great when you have friends over. i think that this mario kart has the best tracks by far and nintendo hasn't ever been able to come up with any better ideas. this game lacks the depth that mario kart ds and mario kart wii have with their online mode and in the ds mode the story mode. and it also lacks the stats that each character has. as in ds and wii they all have their defferent top speed and different karts.

this game has a fantastic multiplayer mode with vs race and battle mode which another great assest which can be found on the wii and ds version.

overall this game is fantastic but has been improved on the wii and ds. but the trcks are still way better.
