worth more than a eight, but less than a nine because it is a fair diffrence to the older ones, but could've been better

when I first started the game. I was hoping this would be a very big improvement to the older ones, and it actually was, Mario kart DS had me very happy with the missions and the VS mode you can finally play with the computers.
Also pretty new are the three karts you now can choose per character which makes choosing a particular person more fun than just thinking:' well i think toad looks cool so I'll just pick him.' Now you can think like: ' hmm... Mario is pretty overall, but I could as well choose toad cause he's better on this type of track.'
the thing that also surprised me, were the retro courses you could play in grand prix, vs. and time trails. this way, you wouldn't have the usual four grand prix. to choose from, now you've got eight.
The controls for the game also made me really happy. I don't think I would have enjoyed the game as much if I had to play with the stylus (especially because my touch screen doesn't work at his best)
Nintendo actually made A addictive, fun, and old-scool game in one!
