Mario Kart Wii, while not free of blemishes is a blast to play!

User Rating: 8.5 | Mario Kart Wii (w/ Racing Wheel) WII
This is a review of Mario Kart Wii for the Nintendo Wii.
The last game I played in the Mario Kart Series was the DS version. I thought that game was good but then I played Mario Kart Wii when I first got my Wii console and even though it's not free of blemishes, it's a blast to play with plenty of modes and online competition added to the mix. Let's take a look shall we?

The Controls in this game is how you would drive a car. You use the 2 button to accelerate, 1 to move back, control pad for using items, turn by steering the Wii Wheel, A button to look behind and B to jump or drift. Controls are simple but a little tricky to deal with at first because you need to get used to the Wii Wheel

The Graphics are beautiful. Sure they are the same as Super Mario Galaxy but so what? The Game has the cartoony look everyone knows and loves. In short, impressive Nintendo!

The Gameplay is like other racing games but instead, Mario Kart allows you to cheat your way to the finish. Sweet! In Mario Kart, you pick any Mario character you want (my main is Mario), pick a kart or bike, choose a course to race and then 3..2...1 GO! The gameplay is faced paced and lots of fun. Each Kart has different attributes to it and even though some karts are the same to different characters, each character has thier unique grip and turning skills e.g: Mario has better handling than Luigi but Luigi can do better drifts etc. There are some items that you can get by hitting item boxes such as Blue Spiny Shells, Red Koopa Shells etc. There's just soo much deph in Mario Kart that you might get compedetive with it. There's also Wi Fi Play which is as fun as it was on the DS version, and there's also onine competition which you have to complete a challenge in a certain amount of time, then showing off your record. These competitions appear daily so you can have fun with the competitions when you are bored browsing through the single player mode. Did I mention that the courses range from normal race tracks to death defying loops that make you feel like you wanna be sick? This is a good thing and overall, awesome gameplay!

The Music is highly catchy and enjoyable to listen to. The SFX are okay and the voice acting is as charming as ever!

The Downsides were that the items in this game is soo unbalanced that it makes you want to throw down your wheel in frustration. And also, if you play the 150cc mode, it features the cheapest AI of all time. When you make them fall off, they can still outrun you whereas when you fall off, there is a higher chance of you not quallifying! I'am not making this up!

Mario Kart Wii is hands down a great addition to the Mario franchise! Let's overview the facts shall we?

The Good: Tight Controls, awesome gameplay, fun in parties, out of this world online play, amazing graphics, tricks you do look slick, lots of characters to choose from, courses that will test your skills to the limit, competitions are fun and appear daily, replay value is brilliant!

The Bad: Unbalanced items, cheapest AI ever in 150cc, controls need a little getting used to!

The Ugly: No ugly points here!

Title: Awesome!
