There's no party like Mario Party 10!

User Rating: 10 | Mario Party 10 (amiibo Bundle) WIIU

Mario Party 10 continues the board game style gameplay into what is basically a three-in-one. It is a very addictive game that will constantly keep you coming back. Now, let's review each game!

Mode 1: Mario Party

Mario Party is the main mode in Mario Party 10. It is a very fun adventure collecting Mini-Stars across a board as you roll the die. Now, you may think this is very luck-based, and it is, but there is still room for some strategy. When you win a minigame, you earn Mini-Stars. Most of the minigames are strategy games, which means that not the entire mode is luck-based. It is a very fun experience. However, you don't get to play them too often, but when you do, they are lots of fun. If you are looking to play lots of minigames, there is the Minigame Tournament and the Coin Challenge.

Mode 2: Bowser Party

Bowser Party has the best use of the GamePad in the entire game. It is also the best mode in Mario Party 10. Playing as Bowser is the best fun in the game. Four players on Team Mario roll dice to try to get away from Bowser. As Bowser, you then roll multiple dice to try and catch up to Team Mario. If Bowser catches up, he then challenges all four other players to one of the Bowser minigames. In these minigames, Bowser has the opportunity to steal other players' hearts. Bowser wins if he gets everybody down to zero hearts. Team Mario wins if one player can get to the Star at the end of the board. This is the best part of Mario Party 10, and it's heaps of fun.

Mode 3: Amiibo Party

Amiibo Party requires that you have an amiibo. In the Mario Party 10 bundle, one is included. You tap the amiibo on the GamePad a lot. You tap to roll, stop random spinners, use tokens, you tap the GamePad a lot. However, it's surprisingly fun. In this mode, you play sort of like an old-school Mario Party. You collect coins, and if you make it to the Star Space, you can trade your coins for stars. After 10 rounds, the player with the most stars wins. If there is a tie on stars, the player who has more coins beats out the other player. There is a minigame after each round, just like older Mario Parties.

Conclusion + Verdict

Mario Party 10 is one of the best games on the Wii U. It only has one downside, and that is long loading times. But that is not even close to being a big deal. It constantly keeps you engaged with the amount of content and the style of gameplay. It is definitely the best Mario Party to date.
