Mario Party 2 is definitely a step up from the original with new features that will rock the party!

Mario Party 2 is a great game. A big step up from the original, Mario Party 2 has fun new features that will have you coming back for more. First, the mini-games. Recycling some ideas from Mario Party (1) seems a little lazy on the developer's part, but they've added new features and new mini-games to make it exciting. For example, they took Crazy Cutters from the original and spiced it up by changing the characters to cut and making it so that there will be a distinct winner instead of all players above a certain point limit get coins. Some new mini-games, like Sky Pilots, show what Mario Party 2 is capable of. Sky Pilots is a 2-on-2 mini-game where one player flaps the wings of your boat-car and the other player steers. There will be rainbow rings for extra speed, cannons shooting at you to hold you back, and a few other crazy obstacles for you and your partner to steer clear of or steer into. Another upbeat aspect are the boards. There are less boards in this Mario Party than the original, but they are bigger and more creative. A unique feature to these boards are that a fun storyline goes with them, along with your characters dressed up in a costume unique to the board and a cutscene battle with Bowser at the end of each board. Unfortunately, the character roster is still limited to the same 6 players and the graphics aren't the best, but those are only minor setbacks. All in all, Mario Party 2 is pretty good!
