Mario Party 3 is a game well above average that is perfect for when you have friends over...
AIM OF GAME: To defeat the Millenium Star and get each character's face carved into Mt Mario.
BETTER THAN: Mario Party 2
WORSE THAN: Super Mario 64
Mario Party 3 is definately a fun game. You will enjoy it for weeks and you have plenty of fun playing it with friends over.
There are at least 30 different minigames to play and about six different boards. Naturally, Party games will get boring after a while. The story mode is WAY too long and it takes for ever.
I remember playing when I was about 10 and I clocked it, now I can't beat it. I think that the Mario Party games need to be easier and shorter.
It's strange to ask for a game to be shorter but I think Hudson went over the top with story mode in this version. Everything else is still VERY VERY good and I would highly recommend it as one of the best multiplayer games on the Nintendo 64.
MY SCORES
Gameplay: 8.5
The Gameplay in this game is at a high standard. Each mini game has a different set of moves which is good. The controls on the board are also very good. The Gameplay is definately very good.
Graphics: 8
The graphics are pretty good for the Nintendo 64. There's not much more to say about that. Sound: 10
If you look at my reviews, you might notice that I give a lot of sounds 10's but STILL sounds are really good in games. Music is good and addicting and the character voices are also fairly good.
Value: 9
I think I bought this game for $AU30. I probably would spend up to $AU50 for this game because it is definately worth it. Also, it will take you months if you are crazy enough to clock it!!!
Overall/Average: 8.7 (8.5)
Overall, Mario Party 3 deserves a good 8.7. It is a fun game that will last a few weeks and you will enjoy it for a long time.
