Mario Party 4, although not a great game, is one of the best Mario Parties.
Gameplay: 7/10 - Good
The game follows the old Mario Party style. Some boards have new features, and some boards are fairly similar. The usage of items are still here, and there are many cool and nice items here. Mini Games are decent. Board setup is ok too. There are different spaces on the board, such as the blue space and red space, which adds your coins by 3 or subtracts by 3. The loathesome Bowser Space is back, and is still a dangerous space to land on. The game works very similar to a board game, other than the mini games. There are also some nice modes to it, such as Story Mode etc. The objective is to win the most stars. You buy them for 20 coins, and you collect coins from the board or from mini games. Multiplayer is decent, as well.
Graphics: 8/10 - Great
The graphics in this game are nowhere near horrible, and are pretty good in my opinion. Everything is pretty colorful, etc. You wouldn't really have many problems with these graphics. They don't stand out though.
Sound: 8/10 - Great
Just like the graphics, you won't have a problem with the sound. It matches the boards nicely, such as Boo's Board, etc. Mini game themes will also keep you going!
Value: 7/10 - Good
You probably won't be playing this game long, and is actually not that much fun without friends to play with. The AI is pretty stupid. And when I say stupid, I mean STUPID! When there are stupid AI, there is no fun in the game, because you would always be winning.
Tilt: 7/10 - Good
Overall, the game is pretty good. I recommend you rent it. Remember, this game is better when you play it with your friends!
