Where did the Mario Party formula go?
The graphics are great, and the sound effects are average but when it comes to the Mario Party's characteristics they are almost gone.
First because there aren't Duel Mini Games anymore, and second, instead of item Mini-Games there are some annoying Mushrooms, those Mushrooms actually won't do much, they will only allow you to enter some special places on the boards, or will make you big and able to steal 10 coins for anyone you run into. And some of the best Items just vanished, you won't find them.
Another huge disappointment are the mini-games, instead of being a little more complex and long they just keep being way too simple, some of them are pretty nice but there are some that are really ridiculous.
The AI is awful, the CPUs are dumb and couldn't be more stupid, the only thing they don't do is refusing to buy a star, that woulb be awful. I haven't lost to a CPU and I have this game for about 4 years.
The boards are boring, they don't have anything different, you will walk in some annoying platforms that are really strange.
But there is also a bright side, when playing with your friends this game is very nice and will give you some hours of fun and good laughs. And some Mini-Games are really good, and there are also some Special Mini-Games that you can unlock and play in a different mode.
So, if you are thinking of buying a GameCube's Mario Party son't choose this one.
