Unfortunately, Nintendo temporarily lost its luster when creating Mario Party 4.

During the jump from the Nintendo 64 to the Gamecube platform in Mario Party, Nintendo seemed to get lost. From its predecessors, it was pretty disappointing that Nintendo gave us such a low-level game. It seems as though Nintendo thought it would plausible to hide a very poorly-made game behind an exciting new step into the series. The mini-games are boring, short, and uncreative. For example, there are two games that take about 20 seconds where you repeatedly press A. The boards are ready-made templates altered slightly for each board. The story mode is pathetic, with the only basis to the whole thing being it's your character's birthday. The boards are very slow and can easily cause you to lose interest within 10 minutes. I wouldn't suggest buying this game, because it seems as though Nintendo got very lazy with this installment of the Mario Party franchise.
