Well...eh...not too much to say about this one.

User Rating: 6.8 | Mario Party 7 GC
I hate to say it, but this is where I feel the series is REALLY getting stale. I'm a Mario Party fanatic, and I've played every one (and proud of it)! I wasn't really bored with the series too much. MP4 dissapointed me somewhat, but MP5 revived my interest. MP6 was just great, but here... well, MP7 isn't that great. If you're new to the series, get this game! It still has a load of great stuff, and it'll be a whole new experience! But veterans of the Mario Party series will see this one doesn't shine.

There's not too much to say about this game in terms of good or bad. The gameplay seriously lacks though, as it's too unoriginal. It's basically MP6 but a bit different. Although, some of the ideas were put to good use, like the different ways to get stars (the windmill bidding was a nice idea)! What also ticks me off is Bowser Time. Is it me? Or does Bowser KNOW I've beaten him so many times in the past and always targets me? Is it me? Anyways, Bowser Time can screw up your careful plans before your turn even starts! True, the idea that your plans could be screwed up at any time has been ongoing since Mario Party 3, but this game is FAR too dependent on luck. Because of that, the replay value isn't too great either. What's worse is that you can no longer set all players to be CPUs. The reason they did this is that people were cheating to get stars, etc. in MP6. I didn't really want to cheat... I just did that for fun!

But what really saves this game is 8-Player play. It could've been better though, since they could've used LAN connections to really help the gameplay. Both players holding the controller is a bit awkward, especially if the person next to you has B.O. (kidding, kidding!). Still, with more 8-Player games and a more improved system, I'd have definitely given a more impressive rating.

If you're a Mario Party veteran, rent this first, and judge for yourself. If you're new to the series, play this or Mario Party 6. Either one should give you a great thrill on the Mario Party series. Maybe it's time to end the series... but what I hope they do is one more huge party with basically ALL the Mario superstars on the Wii. C'mon, you know they'll do it!
