What is becoming a tired series, Mario Party gets a good refresher on the DS.

User Rating: 8 | Mario Party DS DS
In the days of the Nintendo 64, Mario Party was one of the best and only party games out there. The Mario Party games then hit the Game Cube and made an appearance on the Game Boy Advance. But after the fifth Mario Party, it has gone downhill big time, and has showed in the most recent game, Mario Party 8, that the time is about up for this series.

Nintendo then decided to give the series a go on the DS, and I'm glad they did. Mario Party DS has kind of given the series a refresher. The mini games are new and original, not games that nobody will ever play like Lawn Mowing.

Pros.
- Nice Visuals
- Keeps the same gameplay that we all loved back in the day of the N64.
- Original mini games
- Lots of great characters to chose from

Cons.
- Still based too much on luck
- The story mode is difficult and not much fun

Story: 7/10
It says there is a story mode, but there isn't much of a story

Sound: 8/10
Good sound effects and music, but nothing special

Graphics: 8/10
A little chunky, but still not bad

Difficulty: 6/10
Luck is too much of a factor still. But not brutal.

Controls: 9/10
Great controls, most of the mini games work really well control wise.

Presentation: 7/10
Decent Menus, a good cute feel overall

Gameplay: 8/10
Sometimes a little too simple, but that's good for younger players

"Fun" Factor: 9/10
Mario is the king of fun, and you will like playing this game

Should I get it?
If you like Mario or even board games, then you will like this game, so yes.
