The beginning of a good and long series!
The single player option is a whole place that you have to get though. Each space is another game that you have to beat to proceed. The further you get through this level the harder the games become. The party mode is the main part of the game. It feels like a board game in a way because you move places and go dice. There are lots of different things that can happen on the board and after every go, you all play a mini game and that mini game depends on what spaces the people landed on in that turn.
The sound is nothing really special as that is not really a big part of the game. Some sounds are repeated but none get annoying because you don't listen out for them really. They are just little extras to expand the gameplay. The lifespan is long because this game can be played over and over again. The same formulas can be re-used and have done but that is not a bad thing because the original formula is brilliant. Mario Party is a classic game that fits nearly any owner of a Nintendo 64.
