Although it's not arcade perfect,it's still a fun game.
Marvel vs Capcom delivers that, and the gameplay feels similar to the Street Fighter games, except it's a little over the top(in a good way)because the characters can jump extremely high and perform 20-40 hit combos.Ryu's hadoken projectiles are huge, and he can perform a super combo attack in which a huge hadoken wave hits his opponent over 20 times.Wolverine can move very fast and slash you with his claws.Hulk has a lot of strength to pound you with.Spiderman can trap you in his web and swing across the top of the screen and perform jumping attacks on you from a variety of different angles.Megaman can fire his X buster at the press of a button and has some counter attacking abilities.Ken Masters can still perform his shoryuken that has good range and is a powerful attacking move.Cyclops can use his eyebeams, including a massive eyebeam attack that can hit his opponent many times and has some good counter attacking moves too.
However, the Playstation version doesn't allow you to sub characters in/out during battle and this causes the fighting to lose some of the strategy(because in the arcade and DC version the characters you sub out heal slowly)but not allowing you to sub characters in/out makes the game lose some of it's arcade feel.
Timing and positioning are important when you're attacking and defending, because one mistake could make you be hit by a 40 hit super combo and make you lose a lot of health.
The special moves and super combos are easy to do because they require only a small amount of D-Pad movement and a simple button press, and are responsive.
The artstyle combines the Marvel and Capcom styles well, and you'll see the comic style bubble speech from marvel characters.
The music has influence from all the game/character themes.
The game is rare and is fun, although not arcade perfect.
