Blunt review comparing first to second game
Ive only played 5 hours of Mass Effect 2. In that time i have noticed some big changes they made over Mass Effect (1).
The weapon system seems to be simplified and almost generic on the customization. I loved looking for license in the first one and all the customization on the first game. i could just not be as far in the game yet but from what i experienced you just collect updates, five total for each aspect of a gun and it upgrades every gun of that type for the squad. Yes in the first game it could have been confusing and lack of storage and the way it was organized but it just needed tweaks. So thats been dumbed down. Also they went to cartridge ammo which makes the game feel more present-day that futuristic. They put so much effort in the guns in the first game from the way they look and fold up to how and what it shot to "oh you found this and your going to use it like it is."
Okay that was my gripe now about what i think so far of the game. Story of the game... first hour of the game has more story to it than most games and i keep wanting to play just for the story. I love the characters from the first one and hope to get back my favorite ones. The trend of adult thyme games tend to lack actual gaming to more of a button pushing movie and i hope this game doesnt turn that direction but so far i love the game and i will update my review when i find more to talk about or that i was wrong about.
