Overwhelming game, with a few minor shortcomings that can't quite mar the experience.

I have been waiting eagerly for mass effect 2 since my first completion of the first game. It was like nothing I had played before and is easily one of my favorite games of all time. The sequel doesn't lack in any areas where the first shined, and even improves in several. The action is alot less clunky and much more satisfying, with smarter enemies and a better cover system. The story continued to keep me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and the game's pace is quicker than its predecessor. The game's universe will be drastically different depending on your choices in the first game (I strongly suggest you play through it before playing ME2) giving you an inate sense that your choices truly do effect the situations around you. The graphics have greatly improved over the last two years, and there are few technical blemishes. my only real dissapointment in the game was the lackluster weapon and upgrade system. There are fewer powers, and almost no variety in weapons (you find weapon upgrades instead), I really wish that the time had been taken to flesh these systems out a little more. Overall Mass Effect 2 is a truly marvelous and unique experience, the only downside to finishing the game, is the long wait for Mass Effect 3....
