Excellent RPG, improves on ME1. Can't wait for ME3!

User Rating: 9 | Mass Effect 2 X360
Pros
- Graphics: Improvement over the first game, with lots of map variety, and beautiful effects and lighting

- Voice Acting: Excellent Dialogue, great characterization, solid voice work

- Combat: Nice gun play, improved controls & power usage, smarter AI (for your squad too), challenging on higher difficulty levels

- Story: Main campaign is great

- Tie-in to ME1: This is an amazing feature. It was great seeing the effect of decisions I made in the first game, and it forces you to pay attention to the consequences of decisions in this game. It will be interesting to see how these decisions play out in the 3rd installment

Cons
- Mini Games: super boring scanning planets. SUPER SUPER boring. The hacking challenges are too easy, just serve as an annoyance

- Side Quests: While improved from the first game, they are far too short and linear

- Loyalty Missions: These should be side quests, and they detract from the main story. There are serious consequences if you don't do them all, but doing them detracts from the engrossing main storyline

- Lack of RPG elements: There is very little in the way of weapon/armor upgrades, zero inventory management, very little exploration. Many traditional RPG elements have been discarded, which I personally do not like

Overall a great game, but not the best RPG I have played
