I want to give this game a higher score.... but I can't.

First, I was completely addicted to this game. The challenge of completing every mission and upgrading every weapon to its max goes right to my compulsive gaming core. That said, after playing ME2 I can't help but to feel a bit... confused? The characters are excellent, the storyline is capturing, and of course the game is beautiful. But, the game plays backward in terms of difficult. The first few battles were amazing and I was even killed in battle quite a few times. Toward the end, with Grunt and Garrus by my side, it was kind of a joke. ME2's most common enemy is an unarmed zombie that dies when you look at it (ok, you have to hit it once). I was really expecting the insane amount of time spent mining to have been for something more. Speaking of mining, had I known about the mineral mining, I would not have bought this game. Mineral mining is the act of scanning a planet inch by inch for different types of minerals. With the minerals, you can upgrade your ship, armor, weapons, etc. Mining is brutally tedious, boring, redundant, mind numbing, frustrating, slow, etc, etc, etc. What was BioWare thinking? Watching water boil is most exciting than mineral mining. A word about the battles: 2 of the few battles against the Collectors are the same exact battle (Collectors arriving on floating platforms, etc). Come on. Anyway, ME2 is a good game, but not a great game. If you do buy this game, only mine for the available items in the lab.. aything more will be an addition waste of time.
