Relative short add-on with plenty of intrigue, as long as you have the Hammerhead add-on too.

If you thought the Hammerhead add-on was quite dull, this new Overlord add-on adds some intriguing DLC stuff to this epic Sci-Fi RPG, and a bit of a challenge as well. Basically, once you have the Hammerhead, you can go to this Cerebrus-occupied part of The Phoenix Massing Nebula (a.k.a. The Perseus Veil) where a group of Cerebrus researchers had been, as Joker would put it, "computing pi because they plugged in the overlord". In this case, their attempts to understand the Geth by "merging" a mathematical genius with a VI program went wrong, causing all mechs and other electronic equipment to go rogue, killing all but one scientist by the time Shepard's team rolls in on the Hammerhead.

There is nothing completely new in this DLC, although it is partially an open-world of sorts while you do this mission series. There are certain puzzle challenges here, in addition to the usual blasting of mechs and rebelling Geth. Some parts, though, have you using a Geth cannon on itself, before you can take it out, and enter a Geth ship. Otherwise, there isn't much in the way of upgrades to equipment and all, but there is plenty of credits to be made. The story is pretty intriguing though, adding a sort of extension to Cerebrus' continuing effort to understand the galaxy's enemies, all of which, of course, depends on how you use your version of Commander Shepard. It's not a must-buy IMO, but it's certainly worth a go-around.
