Mass Epicness!
Lets stay on the story. It starts you out as Shepard, and of course you are on the Normandy. The Collectors come out with a surprise attack and destroy your ship, and as a true captain of the ship you go down with it. So you "die" in the beginning. You wake up in a laboratory and you find out that Cerberus (a human space group) has invested a crap load of money to revive you. You find out that they want you to stop the Collectors and do a whole bunch of missions. As the story plays out, the game gets better and better. Right away I was involved.
On to the graphics, they are a huge improvement from the last game. Especially since they are using the Mass Effect 3 engine on the PS3 version. They are great and the facial animations are superb. But the dlc and the game does have frame rate problems. And the lighting effect is absolutely amazing. The cities are more beautiful than ever.
The gameplay is a strong point in this game. You can start out as a Vanguard, Adept, Engineer, Soldier, Sentinel, and Infiltrator. All of them are fun and unique. The upgrade system is just like the first one. You have a party once again and each character is unique to their own abilities. You can upgrade from your guns to your armors, to prototypes, to ship enhancements. The conversation wheel is back. You can choose to be rude, or to be the goody two-shoes, or just be in between. The conversations keep you interested. One downfall for me is that in the first game you can drop off on any planet in the galaxies, but in this one you can only probe them. Probing can get tedious at times, but you do need the minerals for the upgrades. The DLC is amazing and fun. And adds hours to the game. Some of the decisions you make are difficult.
The soundtrack is a big factor in this game. The music is amazing and powerful. The voice acting is just magnificent and perfect.
So this game will take you around 40 to 50 hours to complete. One of the greatest games of the year.
