Has the makings of a ten but falls just short

Mass Effect is a Sci Fi third person shooter RPG developed by bioware. This is an amazing game. You take control of your character and go on a journey to stop an alien threat in the form of the reapers and Saren. What makes this game so unique for the time it came out is that your decisions directly impact the story. Whether certain members of your crew live or die depends on the choices you make. It was refreshing to have more control over my characters story and to have the game sometimes force me to make the hard call. Unfortunately this game does have problems. First and foremost most side missions can be very repetitive and a lot of them force you to use this vehicle to get from place to place on planet. Now this vehicle is not the worst vehicle I have ever driven in games but it still controls horribly. Graphically the game looks great except for the fact that textures can sometimes take a few sconds to long to load in. Side quests get tedious and repetitive and become somewhat of a chore to get through. Finally the main campaign is reletively short if you just stick to the campaign and don't do any sidequests. All that being said this is still a great game. The combat works great and the different planets are varied and awesome to explore. The story is great and with different endings depending on your decisions throughout the game each player might have had different experiences. The best part about this game is that you actions will carry over into the next game so you will want to keep as many characters alive as possible cause If a character died that character won't reappear in the following games. Which is awesome and really makes you feel like your decisions matter. This a game I highly recommend that you pick up.
