Didn't play the older max payne games,but this is good.

The only thing i didn't like about this game is the slow motion shooting,it only worked certain times and when it did work nothing was accomplished.It was a feature that was neat years ago but now it's just old.
Single player is very fast moving and it keeps your attention,the cover system is solid and it functions well.the cut scenes are a bit long oh well they got to tell the story somehow i guess.All in all the single player is not disappointing it's up there with the best of them.
The multiplayer i think is where this game shines.I'm stuck for words, it is great in every way.The look and feel of the matches are just right,it is a great change to get away from the cod meyhem.Max payne is what people are looking for when all the shooting games out are just the same old, it is a good change that most of us are looking for right now.
